Most gyms are closed and not everyone has a full set of workout equipment or elaborate machines lying around in their home. But there are plenty of exercises to do with common household items or no equipment at all that will keep you in shape while we’re stuck indoors.
Side plank — Lie on your side with your feet together, raising your body off the ground with your hand or forearm. Focusing on your core, raise your hips until your body is in a straight line and hold. Most ab workouts can be done with no equipment necessary, making it the perfect workout to do at home.
Push-ups — A classic chest workout, push-ups are ideal for a home workout. For an easier push-up, try it on your knees. Or for a more difficult push-up, fill up a school bag and try it with the bag on your back.
You can perform most arm workouts at home if you have any kind of weights in your house. From bicep curls, tricep extensions and shoulder presses. If you have no weights in your home, household objects can work just as well in times of desperation. Water bottles, sacks of dog food, backpacks, and canned foods can all work as the perfect makeshift weight for different types of exercises
Squats– Use your own body weight or add suitable weighted objects to perform a few squats and keep your legs in good shape. Stand with your feet hip-width apart and engage your core. Bend your knees until your thighs are parallel to the ground and lower your body, focusing on your hamstrings and hips. Then slowly come back to an upright position.
